Description | Manifold is a digital book publishing platform created by the University of Minnesota Press that incorporates media, visualizations, digital maps, and more into a digital text. It also incorporates readers’ annotations and commentary to facilitate discussions around the text. Thanks to a grant from Manifold and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the UW Press and UW Libraries have an opportunity to test out Manifold. For this session, Krystyna Michael, Instructional Technology Assistant at the City University of New York (CUNY), will guide us through pedagogical use cases of Manifold and OER projects with colleagues and students at the Digital Humanities Lab at the CUNY Graduate Center. Krystyna will describe how she approaches project setup and how CUNY is fostering engagement and feedback in the classroom through use of resources and annotations. Topics of remixing materials for different sections and courses will also be shared. CUNY has served as a Co-PI on the Mellon grant to develop Manifold. Please register by March 15th.
