Short, snappy, entertaining: Scandinavian 30 is a series of free, thirty-minute talks by UW Scandinavian Studies faculty the second Thursday of every month at 7:00PM at the Nordic Museum. The talks will tell you what you really need to know about Scandinavia to understand it. UW Scandinavian Professors share their insight and cutting-edge ideas in Academia in an informal setting at the Nordic Museum. Drinks available for purchase in the bar. Impact of Climate Change on the Trolls of Norway In this talk we discuss how the climate of Norway will change over the course of the century due to the burning of fossil fuels. We then assess the impact of these changes on two species of… trolls that reside in Norway, exploring some novel adaptation and mitigation strategies for preserving the trolls. We focus on these species of trolls because they are a charismatic megafauna, but the methodology used in this talk is relevant for all species, trolls or otherwise. RSVP at: events.uw.edu… |
