In the interest of helping promote student research and scholarship, the Ling Dept will be hosting a short workshop aimed at helping you turn your linguistics term papers into abstracts, so that you can submit to conferences! The workshop will be aimed at working with you directly, rather than lecturing at you. Here are the details: ________________________ What: Abstract writing workshop When: Friday Jan 17th 1-3 pm Where: GUG 415L (Linguistics conference room) Who's facilitating? Kirby Conrod (lecturer), Jiahui Huang (ling PhD and student advisor), others TBA Who's invited? anyone who wants help turning a linguistics project into an abstract suitable for submitting to a conference; this is aimed at undergraduate linguistics majors but all are welcome! What should you bring? Please bring an already-finished paper or project that you developed in a previous linguistics class.
