This reception is for those who attend Dr. Jennifer Leeman's presentation on language attitudes and identity formation in the heritage language classroom. Her talk is part of a larger project funded in part by the Humanities Innovation Seed Grant through the Dean's office. This project explores through qualitative research how the formal study of Spanish as a heritage language shapes UW students’ attitudes towards their minoritized language and the construction of their bilingual identities.
