Description | This workshop will employ Theatre of the Oppressed role-playing techniques and other forms of participatory theatre to build capacities for effectively responding to issues that arise in the classroom around power and difference and to better equip participants to create inclusive and equitable teaching and learning environments. Scripts and conversations will be geared towards exploring issues that might arise in classrooms at diverse, open-access institutions such as community colleges, in particular. The workshop will be facilitated by Marcus Johnson (PhD Candidate, Communication) and Julian Barr (PhD Candidate, Geography), 2018-2019 Mellon Fellows for Reaching New Publics. Please RSVP to Annie Dwyer, dwyera@uw.edu, by Thursday, February 20, if you plan to attend. |
