THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. This critical pedagogy workshop features “lesson plan lightning talks” from expert pedagogues, e.g., invited faculty from the Seattle District community colleges who serve as mentors in the Mellon-funded Reaching New Publics in Community Colleges program, part of Reimagining the Humanities PhD and Reaching New Publics: Catalyzing Collaboration. Exemplary undergraduate-level classroom lessons given by invited community college faculty from across the humanities disciplines will serve as a springboard into more wide-ranging conversations about pedagogical strategies and considerations involved in crafting and implementing a compelling lesson plan. In the second half of the session, small working groups led by Seattle district community college faculty will offer attendees feedback on their own sample lesson plan, which attends are encouraged to bring to the session. If you are interested in attending, please bring three hard copies of a sample lesson plan to the workshop. Please also RSVP to Annie Dwyer at dwyera@uw.edu |
