Description | In 2020, many scholars and activists began rethinking their relationship to the criminal punishment and learning about abolition in theory and practice. In this panel, we seek to learn lessons from Native Nations court practices that grapple with finding healing when offenses against the community take place. Judges will offer ideas based on their experience in working with Indigenous nations in terms of both Indigenous knowledges and tribal governance systems. Speakers include: Hon.
