Description | This colloquium will feature the voices of five community and technical college faculty and administrators who will dialogue about the most pressing issues facing community colleges today. This colloquium will be useful to graduate students interested in community college careers and informative for faculty and institutional leaders across sectors of higher education. The participants will identify and discuss emerging trends at community and technical colleges, from running start to guided pathways; grapple with defining challenges, from student retention to state funding; and explore the possibilities and potentials offered by community and technical colleges, particularly in the midst of the social and political upheaval of the current moment and in the wake of the global pandemic. Of particular concern will be the role of the humanities in the future of teaching and learning at community and technical colleges.
