Join the Harry Bridges Center on Wednesday, October 12th to learn more about the work of several Washington-based organizations supporting a variety of workforce development opportunities across industries including healthcare, child and dependent care, and the trades. Panelists will discuss the programs their organizations offer, how they are working to address historic discrimination and bias to uplift workers, and the barriers and opportunities that exist. ABOUT THE FACILITATOR Dr. Ligaya Domingo is the Racial Justice and Education Director of SEIU Healthcare 1199NW, a Union Trustee of the SEIU Healthcare 1199NW Multi-Employer Training Fund, and a board member of the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County. This November, Ligaya will be honored with the Robert Duggan Distinguished Supporter of Labor Studies Award, and the inaugural Distinguished Labor Studies Alumni Award at the Harry Bridges Center's 30th Anniversary Banquet. Ligaya has also been a long-time member of the Bridges Center's Visiting Committee and was the first recipient of the Martin and Ann Jugum Scholarship in Labor Studies in 1997. |
