Description | Tai Chi is an ideal aerobic exercise for any age and can be practiced for a lifetime. Tai Chi helps maintain spine health and increase bone density. It is beneficial to the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, and digestive systems, while also improving balance and the circulation of chi, an energy force that underlies traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts. The Whole U has partnered with the Confucius Institute of the State of Washington (CIWA) to offer a free Chen Style Tai Chi class series during the 2018 Fall Quarter. The class sessions will cover authentic Chen Style Tai Chi Silk Reeling and Qigong warm-ups, emphasizing self-centering, body relaxation, and slow breathing techniques as you practice form movements. Increased flexibility, leg strength, coordination, and balance can be expected along with learning relaxation skills in an energetic way. |
