Join the Whole U and the Professional Staff Organization (PSO) for the second annual diversity forum on February 6th at 12:00PM in the HUB South Ballroom. This event is open to all faculty and staff. The forum will be led by Terryl Ross, Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the University of Washington College of the Environment and Juanita Ricks, head of programs in School of Public Health. A key component of this year’s forum will be on conducting civil conversations about diversity and activism in the workplace. Dr. Terryl Ross has over 30 years of experience related to equity and social justice. He specializes in examining the intersectionality of race, changing demographics, emerging trends, higher education, and new media. Prior to his current role as Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the University of Washington College of the Environment, Dr. Ross served Chief Diversity Office at UW Bothell. Juanita Ricks serves as the Director of Program Operations for Student and Academic Services in the School of Public Health. Juanita’s twenty-year career in higher education has been fueled by her belief in and commitment to the transformational role that education can have on students and the communities they represent. Juanita earned a Master of Arts in Student Development Administration from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Wesleyan University. |
