As we dive into the Dare to Do New Year's Challenge, we begin with taking time to reflect and set our intentions for the coming year. The Whole U is excited to welcome Rosemary Simmons, Ph.D., UW Bothell's Director for Counseling, Health and Wellness, to faciliate a workshop on mindfulness and goal-setting. Participants will use mindful intention and reflection to clarify goals based on their values and priorities. Skills for mindfulness, relaxation, gratitude, and positive psychology will be reviewed and practiced. Learning Goals: Define mindfulness and learn skills to practice mindfulness in your daily life. Participate in relaxation techniques and create method for adding to daily routine. Gain knowledge on skills for gratitude and positive psychology to enhance your overall sense of well-being. About the Instructor: Rosemary Simmons, Ph.D. is the UW Bothell Director for Counseling, Health and Wellness. She is a licensed psychologist with close to 30 years of experience in college mental health. She provides training and consultation to faculty and staff to increase their knowledge and skills with the goal of enhancing staff and faculty well-being so they can increase their effectiveness in working with UW Bothell students. |
