Extending compassion inward and toward others is part of building resilience. In this workshop, Megan Kennedy will discuss the role of compassion in building resilience and guide participants through reflective inquiry and mindfulness practices that support us in developing self-acceptance, self-kindness, and compassion toward others. Megan Kennedy is the Director of the UW Resilience Lab. Her work focuses on leading strategic initiatives to support mental health and well-being on campus. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Megan previously served as a clinical director and youth and family therapist at Youth Eastside Services in Bellevue, WA. Megan received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and other evidence- and mindfulness-based therapies.
