Join the UWCFD's First 90 group, "Becoming a Social Activist" in a conversation with Associate Professors Crystal C. Hall and Rachel Fyall of the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. Crystal Hall's research explores decision making in the context of poverty, using the methods of social and cognitive psychology, along with behavioral economics. This work has had a particular focus on financial decision making and economic opportunity for low-income families. Rachel Fyall's research investigates the influence of nonprofit organizations on the formation of public policy and in the delivery of public services. She examines how discretion shapes the public services provided by nonprofit contractors as well as advocacy and lobbying by nonprofit organizations. Her primary research context is publicly subsidized low-income housing, including the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program and various homelessness interventions. |
