Join The Whole U, UW Medicine, and Bryan Hill, UWMC Nurse for The Run for the Hills 5K/Fun Run. This event will be a fun, low-key event that takes place entirely on the UW track. We are excited to have this entire event in one consolidated location since this will allow us to hang out with everyone the entire time rather than have people spread out over a race course. Event Registration All funds raised from this event will go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to support finding a cure or disease-modifying-treatments for Parkinson's. Suggested registration for the 5K: $35. Choose your donation method: Make a one-time donation or set up monthly payroll deduction to MJFF through the UW Combined Fund Drive, OR Donate through Bryan's fundraising page Team Fox EVENT DETAILS Date: Sat. Aug 27, 2022 Time: 9:00 a.m. - Noon Place: University of Washington Husky Track The 5k participants will start at 9:30 a.m. and complete 12 1/2 laps around the inner lanes of the track. Adults and children participating in the Fun Run may start their run at 9:45AM, keeping to the outside lanes of the track. Every time a 5K participant completes a lap, their bib will be marked with a tally by a volunteer to ensure an accurate number of laps. Fun Run participants will also receive a tally on their bibs. Participants will receive awesome goody bags and fun prizes! Deadline has passed for guaranteed t-shirts but those still available will be distributed on a first-come basis. This is not a formal race so there will be no timing chips. The fastest male and female for the 5k and the greatest number of laps for the Fun Run will receive a prize! We will have music, snacks and a water filling station. We encourage everyone to bring a water bottle, lawn chairs or blankets, and a picnic and hang out for a good cause! MESSAGE FROM BRYAN: My name is Bryan Hill. I'm a 36 year old husband, dad, son, and UW nurse who was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's Disease (PD) when I was 31. Two of my biggest passions are supporting Parkinson's research and being physically active, and this event is the perfect way to merge those two. I live by the motto 'Movement is Medicine.' I was selected to participate in this year's season 14 of American Ninja Warrior, and inspiring others to move their bodies is something that has become of the utmost importance to me through this Parkinson's journey. Our fundraising goal is a lofty $12,000, and we believe we can achieve that with your support! Thank you for joining us! Learn more about Bryan Hill and follow Bryan’s journey on Instagram @fox_ninja_c! Once you are registered you will receive more information about the event. See you there! Thank you AT&T and BECU for sponsoring The Whole U. |
