Join us on C3: Slavery and Freedom as we explore history interpreted from the next generation of historians! This year’s theme is the experience of African Americans during the Antebellum Era and the Civil War, 1820 – 1865. This is a self-guided tour. Students are located next to the object that they have chosen to interpret. The young historians can be identified by their blue or green lanyards. The Young Historians Institute is a weeklong program hosted by the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) for rising high school students in grades 10 to 12. Students explore, practice, and present the historical thinking skills that define the life and work of professional historians. |
