The Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum invites adults and young children (ages 2-3) to discover the world around them together at weekly Story Time. Children will build important developmental and social skills through books, activities, songs, and self-guided gallery exploration. Explore themes, such as shapes, colors, and sizes, in a relaxed setting at your neighborhood museum. This month’s Story Time program will focus on refugee stories. We will read about the journeys of people who have been displaced and are seeking a new home. We will also explore stories of how those same people adjust to life once they arrive somewhere new and unfamiliar. Each week we will read a different book that explores these serious issues in personal, moving, and kid-friendly ways. Feel free to bring snacks and enjoy the space after the program! Missed the 10:30 am Story Time? Don't worry, the program is repeated at 11:00 am! The Story Time takes place in the Byrne Education Loft on Mondays, except on Federal Holidays. |
