Ain't I A Woman: Activism, Legacy and Our Quest for Justice Join the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of African Art and the National Museum of American Indian for a series of lectures and panel discussions addressing activism and social justice through the lens of women of color-- past and present. Noted speakers will expand upon the current exhibitions "Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence" at the Portrait Gallery and "I Am... Contemporary Women Artists of Africa" at the National Museum of African Art, and highlight art and material culture from the National Museum of American Indian. Discover how women of color have found empowerment and amplified their voices for change! This series of three events is made possible through funds from the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative, "Because of Her Story." A National Portrait Gallery program. |
