Details | Due to unforeseen circumstances, author/illustrator Susan Stockdale is no longer able to present December’s “Stripes of All Types” family program. We hope to reschedule a program with her some time in 2020. Instead, the topic of December’s World & Me family program will be Prehistoric Creature Features. Learn more about your place in the world through explorations of nature and culture. Every second Saturday of the month, museum educators lead a program that combines a book reading, activities, and a chance to look more closely at the museum's collections. Join us in welcoming special guest, author and illustrator Susan Stockdale! She will read and demonstrate how she created her book, Stripes of All Types, which celebrates the variety of stripes found on animals around the world. After her presentation, participants will do a craft activity to take home with them, and have the opportunity to purchase their own book to be personally inscribed by Ms. Stockdale. After the program, Ms. Stockdale will be signing books outside of the Gallery Store. Books will be available for purchase. Accessibility: Access services such as American Sign Language interpretation, real-time captioning (CART), or audio description are available with two-weeks advanced notice. To request this service, please call (202) 633-5238 or e-mail NMNHAccessibility@si.edu. |
