Details | Foods represent an important cultural touchstone during the holidays. However, many dishes, while delicious, are not always the healthiest choices. Noted food historian, Dr. Jessica B. Harris, and Kaiser Permanente Psychiatrist, Dr. Kristie Mitchell, will discuss why certain holiday dishes evoke strong emotions. They will suggest how to moderate intake, and give tips to adapt recipes using more healthful ingredients, as well as other techniques on how to make healthy choices while still maintaining your emotional and cultural ties to the holiday. There will be a reception following the program. This event is made possible through the support of Kaiser Permanente.
