Details | Enjoy two of the greatest works for piano and strings, by Schubert and Brahms, as well as vocal music by Handel and by Kate Soper, a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize in Music for her chamber opera Ipsa Dixit. The complete program includes Schubert’s Notturno in E-flat Major, D. 897, for piano, violin, and cello; Brahms’ Trio for Piano and Strings, op. 8; Handel’s “Nel dolce dell’oblio” for soprano, flute, and piano; and Soper’s “Only the Words Themselves Mean What They Say” for soprano and flute. The ensemble features young performers from the prestigious Marlboro Music Festival, which celebrates its seventieth year this summer. Soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon, flutist Francesco Camuglia, violinist Robyn Bollinger, cellist Christoph Richter, and pianist Cynthia Raim make up the full ensemble. This concert is presented as part of the Bill and Mary Meyer Concert Series. |
