Details | As a public health precaution, the Smithsonian is postponing or cancelling all large public events, programming and gatherings through May 3. Because of this, this World & Me program is postponed until a later date. Please consult our calendar of events, museum websites, and si.edu for the latest updates. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Learn more about your place in the world through explorations of nature and culture. Every second Saturday of the month, museum educators lead a program that combines a book reading, activities, and a chance to look more closely at the museum's collections. For this month's program, families will explore the discovery of mosasaurs, sharks and fish fossils in Angola, Africa. After a book reading of Tylosaurus by Gerry Bailey, participants will sift for and identify fossils to learn more about how paleontologists make discoveries about animals that lived long ago and are no longer alive today. Cost: Please register to guarantee a spot in the program. Reservation is $2.00 per person. Children ages 2 and under are free. Location: The Theater in the Q?rius Education Center, on the Ground Floor of the museum. Q?rius is located next to the Constitution Avenue entrance. Accessibility: Access services such as American Sign Language interpretation, real-time captioning (CART), or audio description are available with two-weeks advanced notice.
