Join Smithsonian Paleontologist Karma Nanglu for a video chat to learn about this event and to see evidence from it – fossils! Karma will help students explore what life and ecosystems looked like 500 million years ago through an exploration of fossils. He'll use images and comparisons to living animals today to show students how scientists "read" fossils to understand what they may have looked like, how they may have behaved, and which animal groups that are living today they are most closely related to.
