Summer 2020: The Paradox of Liberty: The African American Experience in the Revolutionary Era an (1763 - 1785) The Young Historians Institute (YHI) is a rigorous weeklong program hosted by the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) for rising high school students in grades 10 to 12. Join us as we explore and practice the historical thinking skills that define the life and work of professional historians. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in history through lectures and discussions, analyze primary sources from the NMAAHC and other Smithsonian collections, and engage with experts in the field.
