In the United States, Native Americans experience higher suicide rates than any other racial or ethnic group. Mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness are integral to combating this issue, and Native youth are at the forefront with solutions. Today, Native youth are creating their own community-based programs, resources and advocacy for mental health and overall wellness. Join us in a conversation and learn how Native teens are addressing this issue. Please note: This discussion will include health issues that may be triggering to some individuals, including depression, suicide, trauma. Participation is free, but advance registration is required via the ticketing URL below. A Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants in advance of the program. The online series Youth in Action: Conversations about Our Future brings students together with young Native activists and changemakers from across the Western Hemisphere working towards equity and social justice for Indigenous peoples. Topics vary each month. The webinars will be recorded and archived on the museum's YouTube channel. |
