While many of the Smithsonian Libraries’ collections are intended for research, we also have extensive unique, special, and rare collections that are often featured in museum exhibitions. And these significant items often make up exhibitions all on their own. Such is the case at our National Museum of African American History & Culture Library, where we’ve had three exhibitions since the Museum opened four years ago: Selections from the Library's Special Collection, Ella’s Books: Volumes from the Library of Ella Fitzgerald, and Uncle Tom’s Cabin: Early and Notable Editions. Join Shauna Collier, Head Librarian and curator, and Brandee Worsham, Reference Librarian, both of the National Museum of African American History & Culture Library, as they talk about the Library, these exhibitions, and the fascinating stories behind them.
