Join curators and historians for an engaging series of panels offering perspectives on the current pandemic. Panelists will virtually share objects from the past as a springboard to a lively discussion of how to better understand the present. Audience questions are encouraged and will be addressed in the moderated dialogue. Video meeting platforms now host some 300 million daily participants. This session will explore historical shifts in personal appearance in America, including what people wear, their use of makeup, and beard and hairstyles. Panelists will also discuss who has control over their work appearance and who shapes their personal style within narrow employment constraints. Based on this history, panelists will discuss how working from home will impact the future of style.
