| | Details | Join Animal Keepers from the Smithsonian’s National Zoo on a virtual field trip to meet and learn about sea lions! Students will get to see these curious marine mammals and hear some of the special adaptations they have for life in the water. Keepers will also share how they care for sea lions, how they got interested in a career as a Zookeeper, and how students can help protect ocean ecosystems for sea lions and other aquatic species. - This webinar is designed for students in grades 3-5. It will be approximately 45 minutes with interactive polls and Q&A, followed by a 15-minute Q&A.
- This webinar complements the Animal Adaptations school program and can be used as an extension resource.
- The primary goals of this webinar are to help students find value in studying the natural world, build their interest and personal connections to science, and learn about science careers.
- This webinar supports learning about animal adaptations and understanding how animals’ internal and external structures function to support survival (NGSS- 4-LS1-1), and how science findings are based on recognizing patterns (NGSS- 3-LS1-1).
This program will be presented via Zoom video webinar. Click this link to join: https://zoom.us/j/92852368172
