In this semi-fictionalized self-portrait, director Mazdak Mirabedini performs as his alter ego Mohammad, a food delivery driver in Portland, Oregon, who is making plans to move back to Tehran after nearly two decades in the United States. Culled from apparently countless hours of footage shot over his lifetime and narrated by the child he never had, Mirabedini’s film reflects on his many failed relationships, his restless desire to move from one place to another, and why driving is the only job that satisfies him. (Dir.: Mazdak Mirabedini, Iran, 2021, 93 min., Persian with English subtitles)
