Postmarks & Paperbacks meets quarterly to discuss postal-themed books, including a range of selections drawing from epistolary novels, popular history books about the USPS or philately, and novels in which letters, the post office, or stamps play a central role. We think you’ll be surprised and delighted by the range of books this encompasses. For our October meeting, we'll be discussing Dracula by Bram Stoker. This seasonal classic uses letters, diary entries, and newspaper articles to tell the tale of the vampire, Count Dracula. One of the most famous pieces of English literature, this novel will be sure to get you in a spooky mood just in time for Halloween. Each Zoom book club discussion will be led by a Postal Museum staff member. Participants are encouraged to leave their cameras on to facilitate discussion, although this is not mandatory. For questions about accessibility, or to request live captioning for this program, please email NPMPrograms@si.edu at least two weeks in advance with requests. Registration is required and limited for this free, virtual program. A Zoom link will be sent to participants 24 hours before the program. |
