Winner of the Grand Prize of the Korea Competition at the 2021 Jeonju International Film Festival, this poignant and quite funny comedy-drama is the story of the inevitable fading of teenage friendships. When we meet high schoolers Jung-hee, Min-young, and Sanna, they are fast friends studying for Korea’s notoriously difficult college entry exams. But later their bond begins to fray when Sanna goes off to Harvard, Min-young moves to Seoul for college, and Jung-hee decides to skip college and drift between part-time jobs, eschewing the hyper-competitive lifestyle young Koreans are normally forced to face. When studious, ambitious Min-young invites her to Seoul for the weekend, they realize that their diverging approaches to life may be too much for their friendship to bear. (Dir.: Lee Jae-eun and Lim Ji-sun, Korea, 2021, 94 min., Korean with English subtitles)
