Details | Designed for: Parents, Caregivers, Early Childhood Educators Registration: Registration is free and required. Join us for a thoughtful virtual conversation on working towards justice as a family. Nationally recognized educator and advocate Britt Hawthorne will discuss her debut New York Times Bestselling book, Raising Antiracist Children: A Practical Parenting Guide with social justice advocate and author, Christine Platt. In her newly released book, Britt teaches caregivers about raising children in informed, actionable, and accountable ways. Through stories, activities, tools, and questionnaires, the guide showcases the power we each have to become upstanders to bias, make change, and work towards justice. Together Britt and Christine will discuss the book's central themes as well as the historic foundations of race and practical ways you can support your family's anti-racism journey. The discussion will be followed by a short Q&A. Registered attendees will be entered to win one of 25 book bundles! This program is a joint collaboration between the Let’s Talk! and Early Childhood Education Initiatives. Embedded within all the Initiatives’ work is a commitment to racial equity, developing positive identities, and engaging and supporting the communities around children. Through these Initiatives, The National Museum of African American History and Culture is in a unique position to support the youngest members of our society by providing age-appropriate programming for children; resources for adults at the museum and online; professional development opportunities for educators; and research-based publications. ________________________________________ Live Stream & Recordings: Program “sold out” or can’t attend live?
