The 2023 Smithsonian Folklife Festival will take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., June 29–July 4 and July 6–July 9. Visitors to the 2023 Smithsonian Folklife Festival will experience this country’s diverse cultural landscape in two featured programs: “The Ozarks: Faces and Facets of a Region” and “Creative Encounters: Living Religions in the U.S.” As always, you can expect music and dance performances, craft workshops, kitchen demonstrations, hands-on family activities, and much more—all free and open to the public. The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is produced by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and is co-sponsored by the National Park Service.
