Presented by Paulette Blanchard (Absentee Shawnee/Kickapoo) Ms. Blanchard is currently a PhD student of geography at the University of Kansas. She holds a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous & American Indian Studies from Haskell Indian Nations University. She has organized workshops connecting Tribes in the Southwest and South central U.S. with climate scientists and numerous Tribal members about their perspectives on climate change. She is active in Indigenous Peoples Climate Change Working Group, Rising Voices of Indigenous Peoples in Weather and Climate Science and the Indigenous Peoples Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers.
