Description | Members of the Community Psychology Research Group will present some results from across three waves of the Social Issues Study, a mixed-method study if UWT student's views about social issues, civic engagement behaviors, and well-being as they progress through their UWT experience. The other study examined policies and services available to students regarding sexual assault within Brazilian universities and at the University of Washington Tacoma. While the Brazilian government transitioned into a democracy, women there were able to reform innovative and radical policies during the mid 80's, such as their specialized Women Police Stations. This research examined perceptions of accessibility, effectiveness, and awareness within both cultures in an effort to promote global learning and unite effective strategies for sexual assault programming. |
