Join Lauren Bakland from the University Y for a 4-week Raise the Bar outdoor fitness series designed to increase activity at work. The series will run July 13 - August 3, every Friday, from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Each week will feature a new activity that combines fitness and fun. Lauren Baklund is the Health & Well-being Director at the University Y Student Center, overseeing fitness programming, group fitness and the FitPath Program. Lauren grew up in Gainesville, FL, where she attended the University of Florida and received her Bachelors in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. In the winter of 2015, Lauren moved to Washington to complete an internship at Valley Medical. She stayed there for two years as an Exercise Specialist before finding her way to the University Y! She received her Masters in Health Care Administration in 2017 from Capella University. Lauren resides in Fife with her husband of almost a year, Jeff, a Seattle University grad who works for Weyerhaeuser. In addition to crocheting and doing puzzles, she enjoys traveling to see her family and playing a game of Rummy with her husband.
