Description | “The workshop will demonstrate the importance of arts in education as a tool for achieving goals of social justice and equity, and ways to integrate social justice arts across curriculum. Additionally, the workshop challenges ways of traditional thinking by offering creative alternatives such as, social justice performing arts techniques similar to the work of Augusto Boal. Using a “glocal” lens, the objective of this workshop is to provide techniques to build cultural understanding and empathy toward racial injustices, as well as to critically examine racism through creative social justice strategies.” |
