No Husky should go hungry. In the US, an estimated 15-25% of college students do not get enough food due to affordability and other costs associated with a college education. Food insecurity negatively affects physical, mental and emotional health, making it difficult for people to perform well at school and work. Any Hungry Husky relieves this issue by providing nutritious, wholesome food to anyone in the UW community. One part of the Any Hungry Husky initiative is the UW Food Pantry that relies on the support of students, retirees, and other community members to keep the doors open and food on the shelves. On Monday, June 17, join the Whole U and the UW Food Pantry for a lunchtime restocking party from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the UW Food Pantry located in Poplar Hall. As the school year wraps up, so does the pantry's end of year food drive. Help us organize and sort new donations so that the pantry can restock for the summer! Participants will be given a brief introduction to the Pantry and then we'll get to work sorting and stocking the shelves. For more information on the UW Food Pantry, click here. We hope to see you there! |
