| Description | Auditions for the musical: Next to Normal. By Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt, Directed by Maria-Tania Bandes Beccera Weingarden. Next to Normal is an American rock musical that centers on a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that managing her illness has on her family. For the audition, be prepared to sing approximately 16 bars from a contemporary musical and to read from the script. *monologues are encouraged but not required. Rehearsals for the musical will be 4 days a week during Winter Quarter with some flexibility. Some rehearsals will take place during Spring break. The music preview will be March 31st on campus, and the production dates will be April 2nd, 3rd, 8th, & 9th at Theatre on the Square. Do it for fun or get credit! (SIAS490 - 5 credits).
