This fall is looking different across UW campuses. But one thing is for sure, this year getting your flu shot is more important than ever! Just like wearing a mask, washing your hands and keeping 6 feet of physical distancing, getting your flu shot is a critical way to protect your personal health as flu season begins. The Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone 6 months of age and older get an annual flu shot, and The Whole U is making it easy. ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To sign up for a time slot at UW Tacoma, go here: www.signupgenius.com… Faculty and staff enrolled in UW-provided PEBB health plans (Uniform Medical and Kaiser), plus graduate students enrolled in the Graduate Appointee Insurance Program (GAIP), can obtain a free annual flu shot as allowed under the plans’ preventive care coverage. Students: Check to see if your health insurance is accepted by the vendor. Not on campus or use a health insurance provider that isn’t accepted? Most local pharmacies and several grocery store chains offer the seasonal influenza vaccine. While most providers will bill your plan directly, double check their billing method before getting vaccinated. To see a list of flu shot clinic locations, go to Flu Vaccine Finder. |
