Description | Ngoma Moses Howard is an educator, administrator and community engagement advocate who lives in Puyallup Washington. Ngoma Moses Howard, who was born in Uganda Africa came to Tacoma when he was eight years old. A Lincoln High School alum, he earned his Bachelor’s degree at UW Tacoma, Masters degree in Teaching at City University, and his Principal Certification at Seattle Pacific University. Ngoma Howard also holds several IT Certifications including: CompTIA A+, CompTIA, Network+, and CompTIA Security+. A twenty-five year educator and school administrator, Ngoma Howard was an assistant principal in Tacoma at First Creek Middle School, Jennie Reed, and Blix elementary schools. Mr. Howard also served as a key board member of the Tacoma Principals Association in 2017-18. Mr. Howard currently teaches math at Edgemont Jr. High school in Puyallup. He is a frequent and key contributor to that districts diversity committee where he strives to bridge the equity and access gap to marginalized students of color in the community. Ngoma Howard has also contributed to Andre Mountain’s Book “Principals Don’t Walk on Water”. Mr. Howard’s forward in the book provides one of the most realistic looks at the challenge of being an educational activist. Ngoma Howard is an educator who uses his profession to make a positive impact on students and communities. His work is informed by the daily challenges rooted in his experience of leading a school and teaching in a suburban setting and the African-American experience.
