Description | Summer Communication Strategy Required RSO Attendees: New Secretaries, New Presidents Recommended: All RSO Officers Alternative Sessions: - Monday, May 17 at 3:30pm-4:20pm - Thursday May 20 at 6:00pm-6:50pm *Required RSO Attendees do not have to attend all 3 sessions; they only need to attend one session. Spring Quarter means that many of our RSO Officers are approaching a pretty serious time in the life of their Registered Student Organization - the process for determining who will continue to progress the organization in the next 2021-2022. It's a time for nominations, elections, applications, and the excitement of selection! But that can be stressful, on top of all the stress that comes from a full-on Spring Quarter! The Center for Student Involvement is ready to help and is here to let you know that RSOs could, and should, start their transition process as soon as possible! This workshop will feature strategies, techniques, and sample calendars to guide your RSO through the process of recruiting, nominating, appointing, and electing new officers to your organization. One of the signature reasons that this session comes up so early in the Spring Quarter is because it is MORE THAN OKAY to have this year's RSO Officer Group and next year's at the same time. This will allow your outgoing officers to provide as much education and information to the officers. Having your new officers early on in the Spring Quarter can also give them time to think about what they may want the RSO to do next year and to plan ahead! Topics to be covered: - Passing on of all social media platforms and passwords
- Ensuring that the new secretary has access to the RSO Email
- The Information that can come from checking the RSO Email all summer long
- Why it's important to respond to the CSI during the summer
- What comes up quicker than most RSOs expect int he Autumn Quarter
- Opportunities for connecting with current and new members during the summer through social media, email, and DawgDen
