Description | Have you ever spent time thinking about the myths, stereotypes, and forces surrounding diet culture, body image, and food consumption? Are you aware of how much society determines what food people eat, what diets are “successful,” and how people should live out their lives in “healthy way?” Have you ever wondered if society has been the best judge of defining what’s healthy? Chloe is a comedian who focuses her investigative perspective on the pressures behind diet culture, body image, and self-esteem. In her book and her presentation titled “F*ck Your Diet and Other Things my Thighs Tell Me,” she uses her personal experiences, commentary, and research to explore the reasons for what forces have influenced (and continue to do so) how our students feel about their bodies, nutrition, wellness, and their self-confidence.
