Back for its fourth year, the 2021 Going Public event explores the overlap between research, activism, and advocacy with a special focus on building trust with communities outside the university. Join us for two days of talks with community leaders and researchers, plus practical workshops that will help you build skills to create social change through advocacy, engage with a broader audience, and showcase the importance of community-engaged research. Registration is free and open to anyone. Day Two's panel This panel explores approaches to and experiences of building relationships and trust between communities and the university. We acknowledge that research has in fact harmed communities, leaving community members feeling vulnerable and exploited. We would like to surface and reflect on these inequities and explore the possibilities of research in partnership with communities to co-create solutions to real world problems.
