Description | 2022 Fall Forum will feature Dr. Carolyn West delivering a free presentation exploring the intersections of race and gender-based violence. About this event Rebuilding Hope! Sexual Assault Center for Pierce County presents an inaugural Fall Forum on Wednesday, October 5th from 1-3pm PST with options to attend in-person at the UW Tacoma campus, William W. Phillip Hall - Milgard Assembly Room, or virtually through this exclusive link for the University's YouTube Channel. In partnership with The Crystal Judson Family Justice Center, Our Sisters' House and Washington Trafficking Prevention and in collaboration with the University of Washington Tacoma Office of Community Partnerships and ElevateHealth, you are invited to join a special presentation and Q&A with the renowned Dr. Carolyn West, focusing on the Intersections of Race and Gender-based Violence. If the community is to improve its prevention of and response to all forms of gender-based violence, we must first closely examine how these forms of violence present and impact individuals and communities differently, and what contributes to those factors. This examination begins with education, questions and collaborative dialogue, which we aim to bring to you through this Forum. This is a FREE community education event and attendance or viewing is strongly encouraged for all Tacoma, Pierce County and South Sound community members and leaders, students, youth, parents and caretakers, community and human service professionals, people and groups that serve children and youth, criminal legal system professionals, healthcare and behavioral health professionals, education professionals, social service professionals, military communities and professionals, and elected leaders. Seating is limited, so register today to secure your spot at the Milgard Assembly Room. If you are not able to attend or stream live on October 5th, please consider completing this registration to request a recording link be sent to you for future viewing. Rebuilding Hope and all our collaborative partners aim to make the recording available upon request and/or posted on our individual organizational websites. Specific requests for recordings can help ensure all members of the community receive an accessible recording and/or transcript once those resources are available.
