Description | Beer. It’s prevalent in nearly every culture and may even be the cause for civilization as we know it. From pub crawls to festivals to a quiet Thursday afternoon, this drink is everywhere. How did it get to be this way? How is beer even made anyways? What is fermentation and why does it taste so good? Why do people like IPAs? There are many questions to be asked of beer and Caitlin aims to answer some of those questions. Grab a pint, cozy up, and learn about this malty beverage filled with yeast poop (no really!). Caitlin Moats is an IT Project Manager at UW Tacoma. In her spare time, between alpaca wrangling and trivia hosting, she brews beer. She took third place in the Specialty IPA category in the 2020 SheBrew competition with her “Morning Brew Coffee IPA”. She lives in Tacoma with her fiancé and brewing partner, Bryan, where they grow their own hops and spend too much time yelling at their two cats. |
