At this Plugged In event, Professor Alireza Pourreza will describe some of the exciting research of the Digital Agriculture Laboratory underway on the UC Davis campus.
Dr. Pourreza will present his research on the use of digital agriculture and aerial sensing for monitoring specialty crops and generating site-specific management zones for precision farming.
Learn how digital agriculture, through the use of drones equipped with cameras and other sensors, collects high-resolution data on crop health, water stress and nutrient deficiencies. By using this information to create site-specific management zones, farmers can more efficiently apply inputs like water, fertilizer and pesticides resulting in higher yields and improved environmental sustainability.

Forum: UC Davis Student Farm

Founded in 1977, the 23-acre Student Farm at UC Davis is a community where students create, maintain, and explore sustainable food systems. It’s a small farm with a significant impact, hosting programs in market-scale farm production, food access and security, restoration, and much more. Director Colin Dixon will share the importance of the farm, and students will talk about their program experiences.
