This initiative, supported by UC Davis Health, University of California, Davis, and Health Equity by Design for Inclusive Excellence, also reflects a broader commitment to equity, including CalFresh/SNAP matching to improve affordability and access.

Film Screening: Identifying & Overcoming Biases in the Operating Room

A film screening and discussion supported by the UC Davis I-DARE and Women in Medicine and Health Sciences programs.

This film addresses the 'death by 1,001 cuts' - the cumulative effect of microaggressions, structural barriers and ergonomic biases that lead to attrition and burnout.

Facilitated discussion with Alejandra Rincon, M.D. Chief of Equity, Inclusion and Diversity OB/GYN Surgeon Santa Clara Medical Center.

Audience: All surgical trainees and faculty are welcome.

Lunch and dessert provided.
