Precision flight, swarm intelligence, mind control… bugs can do it all — and they’re doing it better than humans! Bug World is a larger-than-life exhibition that showcases the fantastical yet real-life abilities of bugs in an experience like no other. Featuring immersive environments and towering replicas, Bug World offers a mind-bending perspective on the incredible — but often overlooked — genius of insects and how they’re inspiring solutions to humankind’s most complex problems. You’ll never look at bugs the same way again! 

Bug World was created by the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and built by Wētā Workshop, the five-time Academy Award-winning special effects masters behind The Lord of the Rings and Avatar. They teamed up with Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand to use their masterful modeling and set design to unveil the genius of insects like you’ve never seen before.

In this info session, we will provide high-level information about the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) and how it might be relevant to you. We will include university researchers who have had or currently have a NAIRR allocation to share their insights and experiences with NAIRR.

About NAIRR
Initially established as a pilot in 2024, the NAIRR concept has become a proven national research infrastructure, supporting more than 600 research projects and 6,000 students across all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. By partnering with 13 other federal agencies and 28 nongovernmental partners, NAIRR bridges a gap that neither the private sector nor government can address alone: making available the tools to enable early, high-risk, high-reward research activities and building foundational AI capabilities long before they are commercially viable.

University of Utah faculty, staff, and students with questions or suggestions about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) at the U are encouraged to attend virtual office hours held by the AI leadership team every other Friday from noon to 1 pm.

These meetings give the entire campus community informal access to the U’s top AI research and policy experts. Attendees can use the time to brainstorm use cases, discuss best practices, understand what’s allowed, find collaborators, suggest new tools, and more.

Office hours are one way the U is working to strengthen AI literacy—the most relevant discussions will be shared with the campus community, including via an FAQ webpage. Feedback may also shape future AI strategy and tool procurement.
