Our staff will facilitate a round-table discussion to answer questions, point you to Lassonde resources, and help you create an action plan. Storytime for Families

Every First Wednesday | 11:00–11:30 | Free

Looking for a free family activity in Salt Lake City? Admission to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts is always free every first Wednesday of the month, and now the day is extra special. Bring your youngest art appreciators to the UMFA for storytime, fine art, and hands-on activities in the galleries!

Gather in the Museum lobby and follow arts educators into the galleries to explore unique works of art, read a story, and create a simple, kid-friendly art project inspired by the art on view and the story! There will be new stories and activities every month, so we hope you’ll join us for a new “once upon a time” every first Wednesday.

Join this Lassonde for Life alumni session to hear from alumni founder Collin Dumke about leveraging your corporate experience to build your own venture. Dumke is a University of Utah graduate and Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute alumnus with a career spanning sales strategy, operations, and analytics at leading local tech companies. Alongside his corporate experience, he founded Linen and Line, a household goods brand, and is the creator and owner of Rounds Putt Lounge, an indoor mini golf and arcade. This event and program are free and available to all alumni of the University of Utah.

Jazz at Kingsbury Hall kicks off with Arturo Sandoval, a 10-time Grammy winner and one of the world’s most acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugelhorn. His versatility can be heard on recordings with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Bennett, and Bill Conti, to Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and Alicia Keys among many others. He has performed with John Williams with the Boston Pops, and in the Super Bowl with Tony Bennett and Patti LaBelle. Sandoval was a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning group Irakere, whose explosive mixture of jazz, classical, rock, and traditional Cuban music caused a sensation throughout the entertainment world. Sandoval was also a 2013 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Staff, faculty and students are invited to University of Utah STEM Safety Day.
 
This annual event will be held on Friday, September 5. It is completely free to register, and participants can select individual sessions throughout the day that fit with their teaching, work and/or research schedules. With sessions such as:
